- Verify Game Files Again
Even if you’ve done this, try verifying the game files once more. Here’s how:
For Steam: Right-click on GTA V in your library, go to Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files.
For Rockstar Launcher: Open the launcher, go to Settings > My Installed Games > GTA V, and select Verify Integrity.
This will replace any corrupted or missing files.
- Run as Administrator
Navigate to the GTA V installation folder.
Right-click on the GTA5.exe file and select Run as administrator.
This bypasses any permission issues that might be preventing the game from loading.
- Disable Overlays
If you’re using programs like Discord, Steam Overlay, or GeForce Experience, disable their overlays.
For Discord: Go to Settings > Game Overlay and toggle it off.
For Steam: Right-click on GTA V, go to Properties > General, and uncheck Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game.
- Remove Mods (If Applicable)
If you have mods installed, they might be causing compatibility issues.
Move all mod files (e.g., .asi files or the scripts folder) to a backup location and try launching the game without them.
- Update Required Software
Ensure your system is up-to-date:
Download and install the latest DirectX version.
Update Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables from the official Microsoft website.
- Add GTA V to Antivirus Exclusions
Sometimes, antivirus software can block game files.
Open your antivirus program and find the Exclusions or Exceptions settings.
Add the entire GTA V installation folder to this list.
- Reinstall Rockstar Social Club
Go to Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program.
Find Rockstar Social Club, uninstall it, and download the latest version from the Rockstar website.
If none of these steps work, reach out to Rockstar Support with detailed information about your issue. Good luck!
